(Quran 57:25) Die Menschen sind somit verpflichtet, für die Gerechtigkeit einzutreten - für eine Gesellschaft, in der soziale Gerechtigkeit herrscht, in der die Würde des Menschen gewahrt wird und in der der Besitz gerecht verteilt ist. Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) warnt uns im Koran immer wieder davor, sich nicht für die soziale Gerechtigkeit bzw. die Armen in der Gesellschaft einzusetzen: „'Was hat euch in Saqar geführt?' Sie werden sagen: 'Wir gehörten nicht zu denjenigen, die beteten, und wir pflegten nicht den Armen zu speisen.'" (Quran 74:42 ff.) Beim Einsatz für soziale Gerechtigkeit im Islam geht es nicht um Almosen, sondern es handelt sich dabei um feststehende Rechte, die der Arme gegenüber den Reichen besitzt. Man muss die soziale Gerechtigkeit vehement einfordern und für sie eintreten. „Siehst du (nicht) denjenigen, der das Gericht für Lüge erklärt? Das ist derjenige, der die Waise zurückstößt und nicht zur Speisung des Armen anhält." (Quran 107:1-3) Jeder, der dazu in der Lage ist, soziale Gerechtigkeit herzustellen, und der dies nicht tut - oder gar andere dazu anstiftet, es zu unterlassen - wird im Quran als Ungläubiger bezeichnet, d.h. als jemand, der ungläubig gegenüber Allah geworden ist und daher Seinen Zorn und Seine Bestrafung verdient: „Nehmt ihn und fesselt ihn dann. Hierauf setzt ihn dem Höllenbrand aus ... Er pflegte nämlich nicht an Allah, den Allgewaltigen zu glauben und nicht zur Speisung des Armen anzuhalten." (Quran 69:30-34) Der Islam ist unvereinbar mit einer materialistischen Gesellschaft, in der sich die Reichen nur darum sorgen, dass sie mehr Besitz und weltliche Gewinne anhäufen und dass anderen die Rechte genommen werden: „Keineswegs! Vielmehr behandelt ihr die Waise nicht freigebig und haltet euch nicht gegenseitig zur Speisung des Armen an. Und ihr verzehrt das Erbe, ja ihr verzehrt es ganz und gar. Und ihr liebt den Besitz, ja ihr liebt ihn voll und ganz."
