Dilihat dari penampilannya sepertinya tidak akan mampu membeli. Namun tetap saya coba hampiri dan menawarkan kepadanya, "Silahkan bu…", lantas ibu itu menunjuk salah satu kambing termurah sambil bertanya,"kalau yang itu berapa Pak?". "Yang itu 700 ribu bu," jawab saya. "Harga pasnya berapa?", Tanya kembali si Ibuu. "600 deh, harga segitu untung saya kecil, tapi biarlah…… . "Tapi, uang saya hanya 500 ribu, boleh pak?", pintanya. Waduh, saya bingung, karena itu harga modalnya, akhirnya saya berembug dengan teman sampai akhirnya diputuskan diberikan saja dengan harga itu kepada ibu tersebut. Sayapun mengantar hewan qurban tersebut sampai kerumahnya, begitu tiba dirumahnya, "Astaghfirullah……, Allahu Akbar…, terasa menggigil seluruh badan karena melihat keadaan rumah ibu itu. Rupanya ibu itu hanya tinggal bertiga, dengan ibunya dan puteranya dirumah gubug berlantai tanah tersebut. Saya tidak melihat tempat tidur kasur, kursi ruang tamu, apalagi perabot mewah atau barang-barang elektronik,. Yang terlihat hanya dipan kayu beralaskan tikar dan bantal lusuh. Diatas dipan, tertidur seorang nenek tua kurus. "Mak…..bangun mak, nih lihat saya bawa apa?", kata ibu itu pada nenek yg sedang rebahan sampai akhirnya terbangun. "Mak, saya sudah belikan emak kambing buat qurban, nanti kita antar ke Masjid ya mak….", kata ibu itu dengan penuh kegembiraan. Si nenek sangat terkaget meski nampak bahagia, sambil mengelus-elus kambing, nenek itu berucap, "Alhamdulillah, akhirnya kesampaian juga kalau emak mau berqurban". "Nih Pak, uangnya, maaf ya kalau saya nawarnya kemurahan, karena saya hanya tukang cuci di kampung sini, saya sengaja mengumpulkan uang untuk beli kambing yang akan diniatkan buat qurban atas nama ibu saya….", kata ibu itu Kaki ini bergetar, dada terasa sesak, sambil menahan tetes air mata, saya berdoa , "Ya Allah…, Ampuni dosa hamba, hamba malu berhadapan dengan hamba-Mu yang pasti lebih mulia ini, seorang yang miskin harta namun kekayaan Imannya begitu luar biasa". "Pak, ini ongkos kendaraannya…", panggil ibu itu,"sudah bu, biar ongkos kendaraanya saya yang bayar', kata saya. Saya cepat pergi sebelum ibu itu tahu kalau mata ini sudah basah karena tak sanggup mendapat teguran dari Allah yang sudah mempertemukan dengan hambaNya yang dengan kesabaran, ketabahan dan penuh keimanan ingin memuliakan orang tuanya……. Untuk mulia ternyata tidak perlu harta berlimpah, jabatan tinggi apalagi kekuasaan, kita bisa belajar keikhlasan dari ibu itu untuk menggapai kemuliaan hidup. Berapa banyak diantara kita yang diberi kecukupan penghasilan, namun masih saja ada kengganan untuk berkurban, padahal bisa jadi harga handphone, jam tangan, tas, ataupun aksesoris yg menempel di tubuh kita harganya jauh lebih mahal dibandingkan seekor hewan qurban. Namun selalu kita sembunyi dibalik kata tidak mampu atau tidak dianggarkan semoga kita semua orang orang yang pandai bersyukur atas segala ni'mat yang Allah berikan.... Dort trafen sich jedes Jahr Kaufleute aus vielen Ländern mit ihren Waren. Sie brachten Gewürze aus Indien, Seide aus China, wertvolle Pelze aus dem fernen Norden, Elfenbein aus Afrika und vieles mehr. Aber nicht nur verkauft und gekauft wurde auf diesem Jahrmarkt, sondern da führten auch allerlei Gaukler ihre Künste vor. Schlangenbeschwörer gab es da, Tierbändiger, Akrobaten und Märchenerzähler, die gleichzeitig die neuesten Nachrichten aus fernen Ländern zum Besten gaben. Am berühmtesten aber war der Wettstreit der Dichter. Romantisches und Lustiges wurde da in wohlgesetzten Reimen vorgetragen, und dann verkündete ein Schiedsgericht, wer in diesem Jahr das beste Gedicht verfaßt hatte. Gleichzeitig vergaßen aber die Einwohner von Mekka im Laufe der Jahrhunderte Allah und dachten auch an Ibrahim und Ismail nur noch, weil sie berühmte Männer waren und die Stadt Mekka gegründet und die Kaaba gebaut hatten. Zwar siedelten sich viele Juden und Christen in Mekka und anderen Teilen der arabischen Halbinsel an, aber sie blieben meist für sich. Die meisten Araber beteten verschiedenartige Götzen an, die sie teils von anderen Völkern übernahmen, teils sich selbst ausdachten. Sie machten Bilder und Statuen davon und stellten sie in ihren Häusern und in der Kaaba auf. Mittlerweile hatten sich schon 365 Götzenbilder in der Kaaba angesammelt, so viele, wie es Tage im Jahr gibt.Wie bei den Bani Israel und den anderen alten Völkern, so bestand auch das Volk der Araber aus verschiedenen Stämmen. Der mächtigste und größte war der Stamm der Kureisch. Die Männer aus diesem Stamm hatten die Aufgabe, all die vielen Menschen, die alljährlich nach Mekka kamen, mit Speise und Trank zu versorgen, und sie waren außerdem für die Verteidigung der Stadt und der Kaaba verantwortlich. Viele von ihnen hatten weite Reisen unternommen und waren sehr reich. Sie besaßen schöne Pferde und zahlreiche Kamele. Weiter südlich auf der arabischen Halbinsel liegt das Land Yemen. Dort hatten sich viele Christen niedergelassen. Sie wurden immer mehr, bis sie schließlich die Juden vertrieben, denen zuvor die Herrschaft gehört hatte. Ihr König hieß Abraha Ashram, ein stolzer und ehrgeiziger Mann. Er ärgerte sich darüber, dass so viele Menschen jedes Jahr nach Mekka reisten, nie aber nach Yemen. „Reisen sie nach Mekka, um die Kaaba zu besuchen?" rief er aus. „Ich will ein viel größeres und schöneres Gebetshaus bauen, und das sollen dann alle Menschen der Welt besuchen und wissen, dass Abraha der mächtigste König ist." Er ließ Marmor und wertvolle Hölzer aus aller Welt zusammentragen und baute einen prächtigen Tempel, der beinahe so groß und schön war wie der, den König Suleiman einst in Jerusalem hatte bauen lassen. Überall ließ er dann verkünden, dass sich in seinem Land das größte und schönste Gebetshaus der Welt befände. Aber die Menschen reisten nicht nach Yemen. Sie fuhren fort, jedes Jahr nach Mekka zu reisen, wo sie die alte, ehrwürdige Kaaba besuchten, ihre Waren verkauften und sich auf dem Jahrmarkt und bei dem Dichterwettstreit vergnügten. Denn wenn auch in der Kaaba längst unzählige Götzenbilder standen, so war die Reise nach Mekka und das Andenken an Ibrahim und Ismail doch eine uralte Tradition, die man nicht aus dem Volksleben hätte weg denkein können. König Abraha wurde neidisch und eifersüchtig. Er beschloß, die Stadt Mekka zu erobern und die Kaaba zu vernichten, damit die Menschen dadurch gezwungen würden, seinen prächtigen Tempel zu besuchen. Darum suchte er die größten und stärksten Männer als Soldaten aus und gab ihnen die besten Waffen, die er finden konnte. Und nicht auf Pferden und Kamelen sollten sie reiten, sondern auf Elefanten, die Abraha zu diesem Zweck aus Indien bringen ließ. Ein solches Elefantenheer galt in der damaligen Zeit als unbesiegbar. Als die Kureisch in Mekka vom Herannahen des Heeres hörten, war ihnen nicht recht wohl zumute, denn sie wußten nicht, wie sie sich gegen ein Elefantenheer wehren und die Stadt verteidigen sollten. Zwar waren sie tapfere, geübte Kämpfer, aber ein solcher Krieg, so glaubten sie, wäre sicherer Selbstmord. Sie machten sich bereit, die Angreifer ohne Widerstand als Sieger zu empfangen, unter der Bedingung, dass sie niemanden töteten und die Stadt nicht zerstörten und plünderten. Aber Allah wollte nicht, dass das älteste Gebetshaus der Menschheit in Feindeshand fiel und zerstört wurde. Er hatte einen anderen Plan. Allah wollte gerade dieses Gebetshaus von den Götzen reinigen und von dort aus Wahrheit und Rechtleitung unter allen Menschen der Welt verbreiten lassen. Durch ein Wunder wollte Er die Kaaba vor den Angreifern bewahren. König Abrahams Truppen hatten inzwischen fast schon die Stadtgrenze erreicht und waren ihres Sieges sicher. Da schickte Allah einen Schwärm Vögel aus, die in ihren Krallen und Schnäbeln Steine trugen. Als sie über Abrahams Heer hinwegflogen, ließen sie die Steine einfach hinabfallen. Die Elefanten wurden dadurch erschreckt und liefen in wilder Flucht davon, so dass keiner der Soldaten sie mehr bändigen konnte. Gedemütigt mußten sie nach Yemen zurückkehren, wo sie der Zorn des enttäuschten Königs erwartete. Im gleichen Jahr wurde in Mekka Allahs letzter Gesandter, unser Prophet Muhammad, geboren.
