But the loss of life and lack of shelter, can we really put it just down to natural disaster? I mean over the past few years Pakistan has suffered from a number of floods, what have the successive governments done to prevent these problems from reoccurring? After every flood, a commission was ordered to investigate the causes and suggest preventive measures. However, the recommendations were never implemented. Take the city of Lahore for example, many remained without electricity for hours, thousands became homeless, dozens of people drowned in their cars due to poor drainage of roads but there was no government intervention. No rescue nor relief to be seen. If this was the case in a city such as Lahore can you imagine what the situation in the remote regions was like? These democratic rulers of Pakistan are not and have never been the least bit bothered about reports or safety of its citizens. They are only there to consolidate their positions and to line their own pockets. The muslims of Pakistan deserve so much better! Isn't it time they rid themselves once and for all from the corrupt politics that has plagued them for decades?
