Kobane - Der US-Armee ist bei einem Luftangriff gegen den "Islamischen Staat" (IS) in Kobane offenbar ein folgenschwerer Fehler unterlaufen: Beim Bombardement der nordsyrischen Stadt sind mehrere Kurden getötet worden. Das berichten übereinstimmend die kurdische Nachrichtenseite "Rudaw" und ein Sprecher der kurdischen Volksverteidigungseinheiten (YPG) in Kobane. "Rudaw" sprach von sechs YPG-Kämpfern, die ums Leben gekommen seien. YPG-Sprecher Idris Nassan wollte keine konkreten Zahlen nennen, sagte aber, dass auch eine Zivilistin getötet worden sei. "Die alliierten Flugzeuge hatten auf IS-Kämpfer gezielt", sagte Nassan. Die Dschihadisten hätten in der Nacht in einem Gebäude im Osten Kobanes Unterschlupf gesucht. Doch in dem Haus hätten sich bereits mehrere ältere kurdische Frauen versteckt. Der Vorfall ist ein Rückschritt in der Zusammenarbeit zwischen YPG und der US-Armee. Am Mittwoch hatten beide Seiten noch vermeldet, dass die Angriffe der internationalen Koalition deutlich genauer geworden seien, weil die Kurden die Koordinaten von IS-Stellungen weitergegeben haben. Rund ein Drittel der Grenzstadt sei unter Kontrolle der IS-Miliz, sagte Nassan. Der Rest werde erbittert von YPG-Einheiten verteidigt. Allerdings würden Medikamente und Verbandszeug knapp. "Alle wichtigen Vorräte wie Bandagen, Antibiotika und Betäubungsmittel gehen zur Neige", sagte Nassan. Verletzte liegen demnach im Sterben, weil es keine Medikamente für sie gibt. USA fürchten Fall Kobanes Insgesamt sind nach Angaben der syrischen Beobachtungsstelle für Menschenrechte im Kampf um Kobane im vergangenen Monat mindestens 662 Menschen ums Leben gekommen. Aufseiten der YPG seien 258 Kämpfer und in den Reihen des IS 374 Dschihadisten getötet worden. Weiterhin seien 20 Zivilisten und zehn mit der YPG-Miliz verbündete Kämpfer umgekommen. Nach Angaben von Pentagon-Sprecher John Kirby sind bei den Luftangriffen auf das Gebiet um Kobane bislang "einige Hundert" Dschihadisten getötet worden. Die Luftangriffe haben die Mobilität der Dschihadisten in Kobane deutlich eingeschränkt, sagte Kirby in Washington. Außerdem sei es für den IS schwieriger geworden, Nachschub an die Front zu bringen. Gleichwohl dämpfte das Pentagon die Hoffnung auf eine schnelle Wende im Kampf gegen die Dschihadisten. "Die Situation ist im Fluss", sagte der Sprecher des US-Verteidigungsministeriums.
