Die Bani Israel verbrachten viele Jahrzehnte in der Gefangenschaft in Babylon und trauerten um ihre verlorene Heimat. Sie versuchten so gut es ging, sich an Allah und Sein Gesetz zu erinnern, obwohl die offenbarten Schriften zerstört waren und man sich nur auf Teile davon besinnen konnte. Aber sie beteten zu Allah und übernahmen nicht den Götzendienst der Babylonier. Selbst als der König ihnen eines Tages befahl, verbotene Speisen zu essen, weigerten sie sich. Damals lebte unter den Bani Israel ein Mann namens Uzeir. Allah hatte ihn beauftragt, ein Lehrer für die Bani Israel zu sein. Er war weit und breit bekannt für seine Weisheit und Aufrichtigkeit, so daß sogar der babylonische König seinen Rat suchte. Aber Uzeirs besten Rat, den Götzendienst aufzugeben und sich Allah zuzuwenden, nahm der König nicht an. Statt dessen wurde er zornig und vertrieb Uzeir aus dem Lande. Lange Zeit lebte Uzeir einsam in der Wüste. Da erhielt er eines Tages von Allah den Auftrag, nach Palästina zu reisen und die zerstörte Stadt Jerusalem wieder aufzubauen. Denn Allah wollte die Bani Israel bald in ihre Heimat zurückkehren lassen und das Reich von Babylon vernichten. Uzeir besorgte sich einen Esel und Speise und Trank als Wegzehrung und brach unverzüglich auf. Lange dauerte die einsame, beschwerliche Reise, bis er endlich in Palästina ankam. Gegen Abend entdeckte er in der Ferne das erste Dorf. Als er aber näherkam, fand er, daß die Häuser leer und halb zerfallen waren. Alles Hausgerät war fort, und überall lagen die gebleichten Knochen toter Tiere und sogar Menschengebeine herum. Gespenstisch sah es aus, und Uzeir war entsetzt und verlor alle Hoffnung. Bedrückt ritt er weiter. Die Stadt Jerusalem, das wußte er nun, würde ebenso schrecklich aussehen oder noch schlimmer. Voller Verzweiflung rief er aus: „O weh! Wie kann Allah diese Stadt nach solcher Vernichtung wieder zum Leben erwecken?" Da sprach Allah einen Befehl. Uzeir fiel tot von seinem Esel, und das Tier verendete nicht weit davon in der Wüste. Als hundert Jahre vergangen waren, ließ Allah Uzeir wieder zum Leben erwachen und fragte ihn: „Wie lange hast du in der Wüste geschlafen?" Uzeir erwiderte: „Vielleicht einen Tag oder auch nur ein paar Stunden." Allah sprach: „Nein, hundert Jahre hast du hier gelegen. Wenn du deinen Vorrat an Speise und Trank anschaust, dann scheinen sie gar nicht älter geworden zu sein. Aber schau einmal, was aus deinem Esel geworden ist!" Von dem Esel war nun nicht mehr viel übrig außer ein paar trockenen, gebleichten Knochen, denn das Fleisch war im Laufe der hundert Jahre längst zu Staub zerfallen. Allah sprach zu Uzeir: „Ich will mit dir für die ganze Menschheit ein Zeichen setzen. Schau auf die Knochen und sieh, wie ich sie zusammensetze und mit Fleisch und Haut bekleide." Vor seinen eigenen Augen sah Uzeir dies alles geschehen, bis der Esel lebendig vor ihm stand, bereit, ihn und sein Gepäck zu seinem Bestimmungsort zu tragen. Entsetzt rief Uzeir aus: „Jetzt weiß ich, das Allah über alle Dinge Macht hat!" Er stieg auf seinen Esel und ritt nach Jerusalem. Inzwischen waren die Bani Israel längst nach Palästina zurückgekehrt. In mühevoller harter Arbeit hatten sie aus den Trümmern Dörfer und Städte wieder aufgebaut. Auch die Stadt Jerusalem stand da in neuer Pracht, und die Bani Israel waren gerade dabei, auf dem Fundament des alten Tempels einen neuen zu bauen. Was von Allahs Gesetz und den offenbarten Büchern übriggeblieben war, wurde dort aufbewahrt und von den Gelehrten nach eigenem Ermessen ergänzt. Allah beauftragte Uzeir, den Bani Israel Allahs Gesetz vollständig wiederzugeben. Alles, was Allah Seinem Gesandten Musa dereinst offenbart hatte, war in Uzeirs Herz eingraviert, und er trug es mühelos den Gelehrten und dem Volk vor. Aber statt sich darüber zu freuen und Allah dankbar zu sein, wiesen die Gelehrten Uzeir ab und hörten ihn nicht einmal an. Sie waren sehr hochmütig und sagten: „Wir wollen schon selbst sehen, wie wir die verstreuten Teile sammeln und die ganze Taurat wieder zusammenstellen. Du bist irgendein dahergelaufener Beduine aus der Wüste, und wir kennen weder dich noch deine Familie. Wie kannst du Allahs Gesetz kennen, wenn du nicht einmal an unserer Schule studiert hast?" In Wirklichkeit hatten sie aber Angst, daß ans Licht käme, was sie selbst in die Tau rat eingefügt hatten. Bis heute ist die Taurat eine Sammlung von Bruchstücken der ursprünglichen Offenbarungen, die von den Gelehrten zusammengesetzt und mit selbst ausgedachten Geschichten vermischt wurde. Allah weiß es am besten. Mit böser Absicht haben sie sogar Allahs Gesandte verleumdet und schändliche Dinge über sie behauptet. Die hochmütigen Gelehrten haben sich selbst und ihre Mitmenschen betrogen. Allahs Friede sei mit Uzeir. High Representative/Vice-President Catherine #Ashton has announced today the EU's pledge of more than €450 million #euros for the #reconstruction of Gaza. During the "Conference on #Palestine, Reconstructing Gaza" in #Cairo, HR/VP Ashton said "The only durable solution to the situation in Gaza, which is in everyone's interest, is a political one. Our efforts for Gaza will be successful only if placed in the larger framework of our support to Palestine and our commitment to the peace process". The EU is the largest aid contributor to the Palestinians, with substantial support for the benefit of the Gaza population: in the last ten years the EU has spent more than €1.3bn in the Gaza Strip. Following the conflict in Gaza in 2009, the EU pledged €436 million and has delivered €524.40 million. The EU reaffirmed its readiness to continue and expand its capacity-building efforts to the Palestinian Authority in view of its redeployment in Gaza and to support an effective and secure lifting of the closure through its presence at Gaza crossing points. Furthermore, the EU is also ready to explore ways to support the creation of a land link that would consolidate the political and economic links between the West Bank and Gaza. The EU is also analyzing the feasibility of a maritime link which could open Gaza to Europe and allow the people of Gaza to unlock their socio-economic potential. The EU's ultimate objective remains a two-state solution, with the State of Israel and an independent, democratic, contiguous, sovereign and viable State of #Palestine, living side by side in peace and security and mutual recognition.
