    Während Millionen Türken in der Türkei und der ganzen Welt, die Gründung der Türkischen Republik feierten, weihte Erdogan und seine Crew den Bosporus Tunnel ein. Anstatt den Gründer der Republik zu feiern, feierte der Ministerpräsident damit sich selbst. Das Megaprojekt soll ein Zeichen für den Fortschritt der Türkei und die Macht Erdogans darstellen. Doch die wahren Enkel Atatürks, dem Gründer der Republik Türkei, wissen dass das kein Fortschritt ist, wie der Politikwissenschaftler Suat Özcelebi sehr gut ausdrückt:

    ""Der Tunnel mag für manche Politiker als Symbol für Fortschritt und Moderne gelten, für mich aber nicht. Ich verstehe unter Fortschritt und Moderne eher eine Regierung, die voll und ganz hinter den Bürgerrechten steht; hinter den Rechten jener jungen Menschen, die während der Proteste im Gezi-Park im vergangenen Sommer durch Polizeigewalt erblindeten oder getötet wurden. Bosporustunnel- und -brücken kann man immer bauen - von mir aus noch 50 oder 80 weitere. Aber sie sind kein Maßstab für Zivilisation."

    Bei der Einweihung des Zuges kam es nebenbei bemerkt zu technischen Schwierigkeiten, so dass die Bahn nicht weiterfahren konnte und die ersten Passagiere zu Fuß aus dem Tunnel entkommen mussten.

    Davon komplett uninteressiert feierten Millionen von Menschen, wie z.B. in diesem Video in Izmir ihren Urvater Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
