Die Beispiele der Sahaba demonstrieren dieses Verständnis eindrucksvoll durch ihr Verhalten. So befand sich Abu Dharr einmal in einer hitzigen Debatte mit Bilal, als er diesen als „ Sohn einer Schwarzen" bezeichnete, worauf sich Bilal sofort an den Gesandten wandte und ihm über den Vorfall berichtete. Der Gesandte richtete sich anschließend an Abu Dharr mit den Worten: „Du hast die Grenze überschritten, Abu Dharr! Du trägst noch immer Spuren der Jahiliyya in dir. Es gibt keinen Unterschied zwischen einem Araber und einem Nichtaraber, außer durch Taqwa." Nachdem er diese Worte gehört hatte, begab sich Abu Dharr umgehend zu Bilal, legte sich mit seinem Gesicht auf die Erde und drängte Bilal, mit seinem abessinischen Fuß auf sein Gesicht zu treten. Dieser Vorfall veranschaulicht eindrucksvoll, wie die Sahaba die Tatsache verinnerlichten, dass der einzige Unterscheidungsfaktor unter den Gläubigen die Taqwa ist und dass Rassismus einer der charakteristischen Merkmale des Unglaubens und der Jahiliyya ist.In einem weiteren Hadith sagte der Gesandte: „[…] Es gibt keine Bevorzugung eines Arabers vor einem Nichtaraber noch eines Nichtarabers vor einem Araber, und kein Schwarzhäutiger wird einem Rothäutigen vorgezogen noch ein Rothäutiger einem Schwarzhäutigen, außer in der Taqwa." Daraufhin fragte er seine Gefährten: „Habe ich die Botschaft hiermit weitergegeben?" Nachdem sie dies bejahten, sagte er: „Derjenige, der Zeuge dessen ist, darf dies nun dem herantragen, der abwesend ist."Keiner anderen Ideologie und keinem anderen System ist es gelungen, die verschiedenen Völker der Erde auf diese Weise unter einem Din ohne Diskriminierung einer Rasse oder Sprache miteinander zu vereinen. Sie verstanden sich trotz der verschiedenen Rassen und Sprachen mehr als ein Jahrtausend als eine einzige Umma. Die Quellen des Islam, Quran und Sunna, definieren die islamische Umma als die Umma, die an die islamische Aqida glaubt, die die islamischen Gesetze umsetzt und die Botschaft des Islam an die gesamte Menschheit heranträgt.Allah sagt: „Und unter denen, die Wir erschufen, gibt es eine Umma, die zu der Wahrheit leitet und damit Gerechtigkeit übt." (7:181)Die Geschichte zeigt, dass diese islamische Umma regiert und ausschließlich den Islam implementiert hat und dass durch diese Erfahrung mit der Gerechtigkeit des Islam ganze Völker in diesen Din eingetreten sind, einzig vereint durch eine Gemeinsamkeit, eine Gemeinsamkeit, die wichtiger ist als die Sprache, die wir sprechen, die Farbe unserer Haut oder unsere Herkunft, nämlich die Aqida des Islam. So ist es also eine Pflicht der Muslime, sich weltweit als eine Umma zu verstehen. Im Dokument von Medina, das der Gesandte kurz nach seinem Eintreffen aufsetzen ließ, heißt es: „[…] zwischen den gläubigen Muslimen der Qurais, Yatribs und denen, die ihnen folgten, sich ihnen anschlossen und mit ihnen kämpften. Unter allen (übrigen) Menschen bilden sie wahrlich eine Gemeinschaft (Umma)."Es ist von großer Bedeutung, dass den Muslimen nicht das Bewusstsein abhanden kommt, dass es sich bei der islamischen Umma um eine einzige globale Umma handelt, auch wenn sie durch verschiedene Umstände auf der ganzen Welt verstreut leben. Genau diese Tatsache wird ausgenutzt, um vor allem den Teil der Umma, der außerhalb der islamischen Welt lebt, vom Rest der Umma zu isolieren. Denn der Wunsch und die Tendenz bestehen schon lange, den Muslimen das Bewusstsein für Probleme der Umma seitens des Westens zu nehmen. Sie möchten Persönlichkeiten schaffen, die nicht die Schmerzen und Qualen ihrer Brüder und Schwestern in einem anderen Teil der Welt mitfühlen und folglich dazu schweigen. Doch der Gesandte hat das Bewusstsein der Muslime für die Einheit der einen globalen Umma treffend beschrieben: „Die Muslime sind wie ein Körper. Schmerzt ein Körperteil, reagiert der übrige Körper mit Fieber und Wachsein." Des Weiteren sagte er: „Die Muslime sind wie ein Mann. Wenn das Auge schmerzt, schmerzt der ganze Körper und wenn das Herz schmerzt, schmerzt der gesamte Körper." Der Körper der Umma befindet sich derzeit in einem permanenten Schmerz, ausgelöst durch den Tod und die Qual der vielen Muslime weltweit, als Folge von Krieg und Besatzung und der Zersplitterung ihrer Länder. Die Reaktion der Muslime muss sich in Unruhe und Unbehagen sowie in dem Wunsch äußern, diese Schmerzen und Leiden heilen zu wollen. Ob nun der Irak bombardiert wird oder die Muslime in Palästina getötet werden, wenn Muslime angegriffen werden, so ist es ein Angriff auf alle Muslime. Sie dürfen sich nicht davor scheuen, zu den Problemen der Umma eindeutig Stellung zu beziehen.Wenn also diese Umma eine Umma, unser Din ein Din und unser Schöpfer ein Schöpfer ist, dann sollte es keine Teilung innerhalb der Umma geben. Trotz der vielfältigen Versuche, das Band der Einheit der Umma zu zerreißen, sind die Muslime auf vielen Ebenen miteinander verbunden. Denn die Geschichte des Islam ist die Geschichte aller Muslime, die Sira des Propheten ist die Bezugsquelle aller Muslime und die Gefährten und Gefährtinnen des Propheten sind die Vorbilder aller Muslime. Darüber hinaus ist die Zahl der islamischen Gesetze, die die Muslime ohne Zögern und ohne Zwang tagtäglich umsetzen, unzählbar. Die Einheit, die die Muslime hinsichtlich ihrer Leidenschaft für den Islam fühlen und verinnerlicht haben und die auf ihren Iman zurückzuführen ist, konnten die Kuffar nicht zerstören. Darauf verweisen die weltweiten Proteste und Reaktionen der Muslime, die angesichts der gegenwärtigen Ereignisse nicht schweigen können. Die Muslime müssen sich weiterhin ihrer Verantwortung für diese globale Umma bewusst sein und sich die Worte Allahs ununterbrochen vergegenwärtigen:„Diese eure Umma ist eine Umma; und ich bin euer Herr, so dient mir."
