US threatening UK on Iran: British politicians
The United States is "bullying" UK banks and hindering legal exports from Britain to Iran, senior British politicians has said.
The politicians, including former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and former Chancellor Lord Lamont, made the remarks at a Westminster Hall debate on Wednesday.
British parliamentarians say the US threatens British banks with heavy sanctions and hampers the legal exports of food, pharmaceuticals and medical devices from the UK to the Islamic republic. They add that Washington is hindering UK's legal trades with Iran.
Lamont said Britain "should not be bullied by the American authorities."
Straw noted that as British banks fear US sanctions, they do not provide UK companies with banking services for legal exports to Iran.
"The pressure on our banks is intense," Straw said, adding, "The impact of this unilateral, extraterritorial jurisdiction of the US is discriminatory, especially against UK-based financial institutions, given their multinational nature."
Straw also said the US authorities would not accept the way that British banks and companies are treated if they were in the same situation.
"The US Congress and government would not tolerate this for a moment were the situation reversed," Straw stated, saying the move by the US is a direct challenge to the sovereignty of the UK.
Straw, who is also the British head of Iran-Britain Parliamentary Friendship Group, visited Iran at the head of a high-ranking delegation, including Lamont, Conservative lawmaker Ben Wallace and Labor lawmaker Jeremy Corbyn as guests of Iran's Majlis in January.
The British delegates held meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials. The three-day official visit was the first by a delegation of British politicians since 2008.
Earlier this month, in remarks meant to dissuade foreign countries from planning trade cooperation with the Islamic Republic, US Secretary of State John Kerry said Iran is not an open market for business.
"We have made it crystal clear that Iran is not open for business," Kerry said, addressing US Senators on Capitol Hill on March 13. He warned that the core sanctions against Iran remain firmly in place.
Several delegations from across the world have visited Iran over the past few months in order to boost trade and ties with the Islamic Republic.

Wanted terror suspect dies of wounds in Lebanon hospital
One of the most wanted anti-Syria terrorist suspects has died of wounds he sustained during a shootout with soldiers in the course of his arrest, security sources said.
The man, identified as Sami Ahmad Atrash, was captured by the Lebanese Army on Thursday.
Atrash was accused of preparing car bombs and cooperating with militants waging war on Syria.
He was also allegedly behind several rocket attacks on towns and villages of the northern Bekaa Valley.
Terrorist groups, primarily the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, have claimed responsibility for rocket attacks against the civilians.
Atrash, who had several arrest warrants out against him, was also allegedly involved in last year's deadly ambush of several civilians and a Turkish citizen, an incident that sparked sectarian tensions in the Bekaa, the sources said.
"He is one of the most wanted people on our list," one of the sources said.
An Army intelligence unit chased Atrash, known by the nom de guerre "Al-Daroukh," down an Arsal road, leading to an exchange of fire that wounded the suspect, the sources said.
He was in critical condition when he was transferred to the Al-Amal al-Jamiei Hospital where he died of his wounds.
Separately, the Army also detained five wanted individuals, including three Lebanese siblings and two Syrians.
The Lebanese were identified as Ali, Mohammad and Nasser Ezzedine.
The five are wanted for several judicial warrants against them.

Lebanon army nabs anti-Syria terrorist
The Lebanese army has captured a notorious Syrian fugitive linked to an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group while he was attempting to flee from the border town of Arsal in the Bekaa Valley.
A Lebanese security agent was also taken in along with the terrorist on suspicion of attempting to help him escape. The security agent, however, was later released.
More than 40 militants mostly from the terrorist al-Nusra Front have recently been detained at Lebanese army checkpoints while in possession of false identification documents.
Locals have been calling for the Lebanese forces to enter Arsal to halt the infiltration of militants from the town into Bekaa.
"The entrance of the army is an important first step, but there should also be cooperation by the people of Arsal," said Ramez Amhaz, mayor of the town of Labwa.
Hundreds of foreign-sponsored militants have reportedly infiltrated into the Lebanese territory following defeat in the battle against the Syrian army in the Lebanon-Syria border region.
A group of wounded militants have reportedly received treatment in Arsal Hospital.
Lebanese lawmakers representing the Bekaa region say the central government in Beirut should take a firmer stance on the issue of militants.
"Most of these militants entering Lebanon are from al-Nusra Front, which has been labeled a terrorist organization even by the states aiding the Syrian rebels," said Walid Sukkarieh, a Lebanese lawmaker.
"Even the wounded [militants] should be taken in for questioning because they could easily move around and create mayhem in the country."
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. Some sources say over 140,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by Western-backed militants.
A recent British defense study showed that about 100,000 militants, fragmented into 1,000 groups, are fighting in Syria against the government and people.
According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies -- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey -- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.

Und welche Wirkung hat eine neidische Person auf ihr Opfer?
Antwort:
Ja, Jinn können dem Menschen Schaden zufügen und umgekehrt.
Und ja, das neidische Auge (der böse Blick) kann seinem Opfer Schaden zufügen. Dies passiert und es ist wohlbekannt.
Aber all dies passiert gemäß dem universellen Willen Allahs, nicht wegen seiner legislativen Erlaubnis. Bezüglich dem neidischen (bösen) Blick und seiner Wirkung, so ist dies in einem authentischen Hadith bestätigt:
Der Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi was salam) sagte:
„Der böse Blick ist wahr, denn wenn irgendetwas die göttliche Bestimmung überholen würde, dann wäre es der böse Blick."
(Muslim Nr. 2186)
Und der Gesandte Allahs (sallAllahu alayhi was salam) sagte:
„Es gibt keine Ruqya, außer für den bösen Blick oder den Stich eines Skorpions."
(Al-Bukhari # 5705 und Muslim 1450)
Es gibt viele Ahadith, die dies unterstützen und wir bitten Allah darum, uns zu beschützen und uns Standhaftigkeit auf dem geraden Weg zu geben.
