The northern city of Tripoli witnessed during night and Sunday morning heavy clashes between the rival neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh, as the death toll rose.Tripoli clashes
Media reported that clashes resumed in the morning just few hours after the fight was subsided at dawn.
National news agency reported that six people have been killed as fight erupted along the various traditional axes in Tripoli.
Meanwhile 29 others were injured including 8 Lebanese army soldiers.

The United States has warned that Americans joining extremist fighters in Syria are posing a real threat at home.
Federal officials said some US militants are taking part in the Syrian conflict, raising the chances they could become radicalized by al-Qaeda-linked militant groups and return to the US as battle-hardened security risks.foreign-backed militants fighting the Syrian government
The State Department said it has no estimates of how many Americans are fighting against the Syrian government. Other estimates, from an arm of the British defense consultant IHS Jane's and from experts at a nonprofit think tank in London, put the number of Americans at a couple dozen.
This year, at least three Americans have been charged with planning to fight beside the terrorist group, Nusra Front. The most recent case involves a Pakistan-born North Carolina man arrested on his way to Lebanon.
At a Senate homeland security committee hearing this month, Sen. Thomas Carper, D-Del., said: "We know that American citizens as well as Canadian and European nationals have taken up arms in Syria, in Yemen and in Somalia. The threat that these individuals could return home to carry out attacks is real and troubling."
The hearing came about two weeks after the FBI and other officers arrested Basit Sheikh, 29, at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport on charges he was on his way to join Nusra Front.
Sheikh, a legal resident of the United States, had lived quietly, without a criminal record, in a Raleigh suburb for five years before his Nov. 2 arrest. A similar arrest came in April in Chicago. And in September, authorities in Virginia released an Army veteran accused of fighting alongside the group after a secret plea deal.
In August, outgoing FBI Director Robert Mueller told ABC News that he was concerned about Americans fighting in Syria, specifically "the associations they will make and, secondly, the expertise they will develop, and whether or not they will utilize those associations, utilize that expertise, to undertake an attack on the homeland."
Current FBI Director James Comey said this month that he worried about Syria becoming a repeat of Afghanistan in the 1980s, after the Soviet invasion, with foreign fighters attracted there to train.

As he stressed that the role of Iran is creating stability in the region, defense minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said Iranophobia scenario adopted by extra-regional elements is ending in failure.
In a Sunday interview with IRNA, Dehqan stressed that Iran's militarIran Defense Minister Dehqany might poses no threat to other countries and regional states.
"Today, our neighboring countries also believe that a powerful Iran is the cause of stability and security in the region and it is the presence of 'others' that creates insecurity," he added.
"Foreign elements seek to provoke Iranophobia in an attempt to justify their presence in the region, but, today, this situation is failing," the Iranian defense minister added.
Dehqan pointed to the foreign policy of the administration of President Hassan Rouhani and noted that Tehran has managed to replace the foreign-sponsored attitude of Iranophobia with the idea of interaction with Iran. Dehqan also reaffirmed the Islamic Republic's determination to continue this policy.
In its interactions with regional states, Iran also seeks to warn against the "inhumane and dangerous phenomenon of Takfiri terrorism" sponsored by certain countries, he said.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Iran has also held several military drills to enhance the defense capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment.

Amnesty calls on Israel to end illegal Gaza blockade
Amnesty International has called on the Israeli regime to immediately end the illegal 5-yer-old blockade it has imposed on the Gaza Strip which has left many struggle for humanitarian supplies.
"Israel must immediately lift its blockade on the Gaza Strip, including by allowing the delivery of fuel and other essential supplies into the territory without restrictions," Amnesty said in a statement issued on Sunday.
The rights organization also warned of a prolonged humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to fuel shortage ahead of winter.
Over 1.7 million people of Gaza are living without power since the territory's sole power plant was forced to shut down last month due to fuel shortage, Amnesty said.
"This latest harsh setback has exacerbated the assault on the dignity of Palestinians in Gaza and the massive denial of rights they have experienced for more than six years because of Israel's blockade, together with restrictions imposed by Egypt," said Philip Luther, the Middle East and North Africa director at Amnesty International.
Luther added that the blockade "has collectively punished Gaza's population in violation of international law."
"The power plant shutdown has further affected all aspects of daily life, and the Israeli authorities must lift the blockade immediately, starting by allowing urgently needed fuel supplies into the Strip and working with all relevant parties to avert a prolonged humanitarian crisis this winter."
Israel imposed an all-out land, aerial, and naval blockade on Gaza in June 2007.
The siege has had a disastrous impact on the humanitarian and economic situation in the impoverished enclave, having turned the territory into the world's largest open-air prison.
In recent months, fuel and electricity shortages in Gaza have worsened as the Egyptian military has blocked supply tunnels leading into the region.
The underground tunnels serve as a lifeline for the Palestinians in Gaza.
The blockaded silver is now experiencing daily power outages of up to 16 hours. Hospitals, homes, water and sanitation plants as well as businesses have also been affected by the serious energy shortage.
The power cut has caused the failure of sewerage and water plants. It has also put the lives of many hospitalized patients in danger.
According to the UN, all 291 water and wastewater facilities in the Gaza Strip are now relying on standby generators, which are also affected by the fuel shortages.
Prominent political thinker Noam Chomsky has described the Gaza Strip as "the world's largest open air prison."

Syria talks: Main opposition has no influence over the situation
Damascus has made impressive progress towards the complete elimination of its chemical arsenals. Work is proceeding at a fast pace and ahead of schedule, though the situation in Syria is far from peaceful. Children are being targeted by snipers in the streets of Syrian cities and the Free Syrian Army is rejecting a ceasefire. All hopes are now being pinned on the Geneva-2 international conference scheduled for late January.
This week, Syria informed the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) that it had scrapped all of its empty chemical warheads two months ahead of the appointed deadline of January 31. Destruction of the shells stuffed with toxic agents will begin in the middle of December and continue through the middle of March. The most lethal components will be eliminated at an offshore US facility.
Meanwhile, shootings and bombings inside the country continue unabated. On November 28, the Russian embassy in Damascus came under a mortar attack that left one Syrian killed and nine others wounded. There were no casualties among the embassy staff. The UN Security Council strongly condemned the attack, describing it as an act of terrorism, and demanded that all those responsible be held accountable. It warned that attacks on diplomatic missions protected by international law were inadmissible.
The ongoing civil war prompted many countries, including France, the Netherlands and some Arab states, to shut their embassies and consulates in Syria. The government has been doing all in its power to protect diplomats and civilians but with groups of militants still active in the suburbs of Damascus, no one can guarantee 100-percent safety.
"The suburbs should be cleared of the militants. But such cleansings might put civilians at risk because militants are hiding behind people's backs. So the government changed tactics, resorting to ambush and other maneuvers to avoid civilian casualties. It's very important, especially in the context of chemical disarmament so as not to give the militants a chance to accuse the government of killing civilians," Sergei Sereyogichev, a research fellow at the Institute of Middle Studies in Moscow, told the Voice of Russia.
The attack against the Russian embassy had apparently meant to intimidate the embassy staff and send a signal to Russia that the peaceful solution it advocates does not suit the anti-Assad rebels.
Earlier, the Oxford Research Group published shocking figures – the conflict in Syria has claimed the lives of 11,000 children. Most of them were killed by shell fire or bombings, but hundreds were shot dead by snipers or tortured to death.
A short while ago, the West was considering military intervention in Syria. It knew there would be civilian death toll but accepted it as unavoidable, said Oleg Fomin, Co-Chairman of the Russian Committee for Solidarity with the People of Libya and Syria.
"When the Americans were firing 'tomahawks' at Libya or bombing Baghdad, didn't it occur to them that they were killing children? Or when unmanned soulless drones attack a crowd of civilians in Afghanistan, Iraq or Pakistan, what do they care. Drones don't distinguish between children and adults," he said.
Only peace can save the lives of little Syrians – not a victory of one force over the other, but the mutual desire of both to lay down arms and sit down to negotiate.
The late January Geneva-2 conference will hopefully become an important milestone towards ending the civil war. But some analysts are skeptical about a breakthrough. Semyon Bagdasarov of the Institute for Middle East Problems notes that some opposition groups are determined to fight on.
"The main opposition – the so-called Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces – has virtually no influence over the situation. The tone is being set by several militant groups, one of them being the Free Syrian Army which appears to be falling apart. Though it may still be calling itself a military wing of the coalition, its commanders are reproaching coalition leaders for residing in luxury hotels in Turkey while rank-and-file fighters are spilling their blood," he said.
Some opposition groups have conditioned their Geneva-2 attendance by President Bashar al-Assad's resignation – a demand that makes negotiations pointless. How to deal with those groups? Some analysts suggest branding them as terrorist organizations and handling them accordingly.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem, who will head the government delegation at the talks, said that for Geneva l-2 to achieve success there must be an end to financial and military aid to the opposition.

Protesters burn Qatari, Turkish flags in Cairo
Hundreds of people have gathered outside Qatar's embassy in Cairo to protest against what they called the Persian Gulf state's unwarranted interference in Egypt's internal affairs.
The protesters, comprised of Sawt el-Shab [The Voice of the People], Ana Masry [I am Egyptian] groups and the Popular Resistance Movement - a group of retired military personnel - burned Qatari and Turkish flags and chanted slogans against al-Jazeera satellite channel on Saturday, Tasnim reported.
They distributed flyers calling al-Jazeera the mouthpiece of Qatar, saying that Egypt must be saved from sedition and national security must be protected against international interference.
The protesters also called for the expulsion of Qatar's ambassador and demanded the permanent closure of al-Jazeera office in Egypt.
Al-Jazeera's Mohamed Fadel Fahmy said the protesters chanted slogans supporting the Egyptian military and General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the army chief who helped depose former president Mohamed Mursi, and proclaimed: "We're not Syria, we're not Libya!".
He said the protesters pledged to continue demonstrating until their demands were met.
The protest appears to be the first permitted by the Egyptian Interior Ministry following the introduction of a controversial law restricting the right to protest, al-Jazeera's correspondent said.
The groups would have had to notify the authorities of their plans, including the slogans they would use, how long they would protest for, where they would be and the groups involved.
"The Interior Ministry would have known about it," al-Jazeera's Fahmy said.
Among other rules, the new protest law requires organizers to notify the ministry three days before holding a demonstration, while also setting prison terms and high fines for violators.
Meanwhile, two al-Jazeera journalists arrested in August during the pro-Mursi protests in August remain in prison.

كما عرَّج صدام الجمل على القول بأن هناك مخابرات خليجية ودول عربية أخرى كالمخابرات الاردنية ومخابرات غربية، مشتركة وتشترك في اجتماعات الأركان والمجالس العسكرية وكل المخابرات تكون موجودة وراعية لمشروع " الجيش الحر"، كما أكد بأن الدول الداعمة والراعية للمشروع تقوم بتقديم أموال طائلة للمجلسين "العسكري والثوري" مناصفة، وأشار الى أموال قدمتها امريكا أيضا.
كما تحدث صدام عن أن اجتماعاً أخيراً حدث قبل فترة ضم قادة "كتائب وألوية" في المنطقة الشرقية والجبهة الشمالية في سوريا وأن 3 اجتماعات أقيمت وقتها، الاجتماع الأول لكتائب وألوية الجبهة الشرقية والاجتماع الثاني لألوية وكتائب الجبهة الشمالية والاجتماع الثالث للجبهتين سوية من سوريا، بحضور الامير سلمان نائب وزير الدفاع السعودي، كما كانت بحضور مخابرات خليجية ومخابرات الأردن، وطلب الأمير من المجتمعين أن يحضر كل واحد من القادة تكاليف الهجوم على هدف للجيش السوري، ووعد الأمير بتأمين المال والسلاح لهذا الغرض.
أيضاً قال قائد "لواء الله أكبر" أن اللواء سليم إدريس دعاهم للتوحد تحت مظلة الأركان حتى تقوم الجهات الداعمة للأركان بتقديم التمويل والأسلحة والذخيرة لهذه الكتائب المنضوية تحت لواء هيئة الأركان.
كما أكد صدام الجمل أن مخابرات إحدى الدول الخليجية والعالمية نصَّبت رئيس الائتلاف الوطني بسبب علاقاته القوية مع السعودية وأن الجربا هو "الفتى المدلل للسعودية والأمير سلمان والمخابرات الغربية" وأنه تم تعيينه بدون موافقة ورضى من الائتلاف الوطني.
