rət və qazanmaqla. kimisi şəhvətini söndürməklə, kimisi evlənməklə, kimisi musiqi ilə, kimisi oyun, əyləncə ilə uzaqlaşdırır. Bunların tələb etdikləri ağıllı insanların istədikləri şeylərdir. Lakin bu yollardan heç biri onları o, istədikləri şeyə çatdırmır. Bunların çoxu o, şeyin ziddidir. Mən bu yolların içərisində o, şeyə çatdıran yalnız bir əməl gördüm. Allaha yönəlmək, Allahın razılığını hər bir şeydən üstün tutmaq. O, şeylərdə ləzzət olsada onlar ani keçici şeylərdir. Yenə də bunların ardıyca qəm-kədər, bədbəxtçilik gəlir. Əgər insan iman yolunu tutarsa o, uca bir şeyi əldə edər. Əgər bəndə üçün bu iman hasil olarsa demək hər bir şey onun üçün hasil olmuşdur. Əgər bu yoxa çıxarsa onda hər bir şeydə boş şeydir. İnsanı bu xoşbəxtçiliyə, səadətə çatdıran bu bir yoldur. Əgər insan bu şeyi yeməkdə, içməkdə, şəhvətdə axtararsa onda o, kimsə heyvandan heç bir şey ilə fərqlənmir. Hətta heyvan bu işlərdə ondan üstündür. Çünki heyvandan çox yeyən, içən, yatan və həmçinin şəhvətdə də heyvandan çox məşğul olan yoxdur. İnsan mütləq fərqlənməlidir.

Müttəqi və salehlər çaxmaq daşı kimidirlər, onu görən "bu xəstədir" deyər, ancaq onları böyük günün dərdi sarsıtmışdır. Salehlərin əlaməti rənglərinin sarı, gözlərinin zəif və yaş, dodaqlarının isə solğun olmasıdır."
