The ISIL terrorists were pushed backed from their positions in the surrounding areas of the Syrian town. A large number of ISIL militants were killed in the fierce fighting with the Kurdish fighters. At least 50 ISIL terrorists have been killed in battles with the Kurdish fighters over past 24 hours. On Saturday, a Peshmerga commander said that fierce clashes resumed between ISIL Takfiri terrorists and Kurdish fighters in Kobani since Friday as they continued to make more gains on the battlefield against extremist militants in the Northern city. "Fighting has broken out in the South and Northeast of the city and heavy weaponry is used in the fight," Brigadier Toufik Khazyavayi said following fresh intense clashes in the early hours of Saturday. He added that the Kurdish forces of the People's Protection Units (YPG) were moving forward while the ISIL militants had failed to make any advance and were retreating from their positions. Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army stormed the hideouts of Takfiri militants in nearby areas of Aleppo province, killing and injuring a large number of them. The rebels suffered major losses in the areas of Hanano, al-Jaberiyeh, al-Kastillo, Icarda, al-Lairamoun, Hreitan, al-Haideriyeh and al-Sfeira, as the army made advances in Aleppo. Elsewhere, the Syrian troops killed scores of the insurgents in Homs province, attacking the fighting positions of them in Palmyra, S'heirij, Salam Sharqi, Aqrab and al-Da'ouneh. Meantime, foreign-backed militants sustained heavy toll in the strategic town of al-Sheikh Miskeen in Daraa province, as the Syrian Army made new gains in its fight against the armed groups. The army soldiers launched major ground offensives against the rebels in the flashpoint town and stormed their fighting positions, leaving scores of them dead and injured. Also, the army retook full control of many new blocks in Western and Eastern areas of al-Sheikh Miskeen. Also, the Syrian troops made major advances in the areas of Ibta', Dael, Nawa, Inkhel, Busr al-Harir, Atman, Tafas and Deir al-Adas, leaving a large number of the insurgents dead and too many of their vehicles destroyed. Elsewhere, the Syrian Armed Forces targeted the positions of the al-Nusra Front terrorists across Idlib province, claiming the lives of a large number of the militants. The terrorists suffered major losses, as the army made gains in the areas of Ora al-Shamali, al-Rouj, Eblin, Sarjeh, Baddama, Hallouz, Tal Bakir, al-Rami and Abu al-Duhour. Six vehicles, equipped with heavy machine-guns, belonging to the terrorists were also destroyed during the operation. Also, the Syrian army shot down a reconnaissance plane of the ISIL in the Eastern parts of the country on Sunday. The ISIL reconnaissance drone was shot down in Al-Sanaeh region of Deir Ezzur province in Eastern Syria today. Meantime, unknown gunmen killed a Kuwaiti commander of the ISIL terrorist group in Deir Ezzur province. The ISIL commander was killed in an attack in Albu Kamal city of Deir Ezzur province while he was driving his car, local sources announced. Elsewhere, the Syrian Army inflicted massive casualties on the ISIL Takfiri group in the Northeastern province of Hasaka, leaving at least 150 terrorists dead. The army soldiers targeted the fighting positions of the rebels in the areas of al-Shadadi, al-Karameh, Mabtouh, Um al-Kubar, al-Seddiq, and Tal Brak, killing and injuring hundreds of them. A number of top commanders of the Takfiri group were killed during the operations. Meantime, 150 wanted people surrendered to the Syrian authorities and they are likely to be pardoned. The wanted people are from Damascus, its countryside and Homs. The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states. The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history. As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists. He added that Syria participates in this conference for the second time after its "historic decision" to join the organization of the prohibition of chemical weapons following exceptional efforts to destroy the Syrian chemical weapons, an issue which reflects the joint success of Syria and the CWC. Mikdad affirmed that the decisive political directives of President Bashar al-Assad and the great efforts of the Syrian authorities have made the basic factor to achieve that huge work which formed brilliant evidence on Syria's adherence to carry out its commitments with responsibility and seriousness. "Since accessing to CWC, Syria has sought to offer all forms of cooperation and dealt with transparency and flexibility to implement its commitments according to the treaty in spite of the big challenges and difficult security conditions resulted by hostile behavior of some regional and international sides," Mikdad said. He expressed Syria's appreciation for the countries which rejected the logic of blackmail and submission and blocked any attempt to exploit the CWC as to achieve "hostile political agendas." Mikdad called on the countries and sides which impose an economic embargo on Syria to lift this inhuman economic siege that led to the killing of large numbers of the Syrian people who carry on a war against terrorism and destruction at the hands of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations. He underlined that Syria condemns the use of any chemical or mass destruction weapons in any place and by any side, clarifying that Syria has repeatedly warned against the possibility of supplying the terrorists with chemical weapons to use them against the Syrian people in order to accuse the Syrian government, but the policy of those sides has been unveiled. Earlier, the 18th Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons' Convention (CWC) opened its works with a statement delivered by Director of CWC Ahmet Üzümcü who appreciated the cooperation between Syria and the international organization.
