Da gab ihm sein Vater einen Hammer und eine große Packung voller Nägel: „Jedes Mal, wenn du wieder wütend wirst und ausrastet, gehst du zu diesem Zaun und schlägst einen Nagel hinein." Der Junge war damit einverstanden, auch wenn er den Sinn dahinter nicht verstand. Am nächsten Tag hämmerte der Bub bereits 30 Nägel in den Zaun. Die Tage vergingen und mit jedem Tag wurden es weniger Nägel, die der Junge in den Zaun schlug. Ihm wurde bewusst, dass es einfacher war, Nägel in den Zaun zu hämmern als auszurasten. Eines Tages war es schließlich so weit, dass er überhaupt nicht mehr ausrastete. Ganz stolz teilte er das seinem Vater mit. Der Vater nahm ihn bei der Hand und ging mit ihm zum Zaun: „Von nun an machen wir es so: Für jeden Tag, den du nicht ausrastet, darfst du einen Nagel wieder aus dem Zaun ziehen." Der Bub war wieder einverstanden. Wieder vergingen mehrere Tage, bis der Junge zu seinem Vater lief und ihm mitteilte, dass nun keine Nägel mehr im Zaun sind. Der Sohn freute sich sehr. Gemeinsam gingen sie zum Zaun. Der Vater sagte zu ihm: „Ich bin sehr stolz auf dich. Das hast du toll gemacht. Aber schau dir die vielen Löcher im Zaun an, die die Nägel hinterlassen haben. Der Zaun ist nicht mehr der, der er einmal war." Der Junge stimmte seinem Vater zu. Der Vater fuhr fort: „Denk daran, wenn du das nächste Mal wütend etwas zu anderen Menschen sagst. Deine Worte könnten Narben hinterlassen, so wie diese Nägel Spuren im Zaun hinterlassen haben. Auch wenn du dich entschuldigst, die Narben bleiben." Es gibt nichts wirksameres, um eine Person vor der Bestrafung Allaahs zu schützen, als der Dhikr an Allaah." Es wurde gesagt: "Nicht einmal Jihaad auf dem Pfade Allaahs?"
